Announcing!!!!…….the biggest dance event of 2010 - the arrival of Tweetie!!

Tweetie is a dancer like no other. Known for her phenomenal street dancing skills in hip hop, she is also a versatile dancer having trained in modern ballet and jazz.  TWEETIE, a resident hip hop teacher at the world renowned Alvin Ailey Dance School, also has her own MTV show “Dances from the Hood” where she teaches the hottest (and the funniest) street and club dance moves and grooves including dances like the “old man”, “the hyphee” and the “chicken noodle soup” dance amongst others. She is also most known for her appearance on the OPRAH WINFREY SHOW where she taught Oprah and her guests some of the key dances from her MTV show.  TWEETIE has also danced alongside artists such as  Shakira, Mya, Jay-Z, Nelly, Ciara, and Destiny’s Child, to name a few. She has also featured as a dancer for Nike, and Ipod and worked with choreographic legends including HI-Hat, Luther Brown, Fatima Robinson, Sho-tyme, Darren Henson, Rennie Harris, Tanisha Scott and Buddah Stretch. 

NOW IT’S YOUR TURN TO NOT ONLY LEARN FROM SUCH AN EXPERIENCED AND KNOWLEDGEABLE DANCER BUT ALSO HAVE THE PRIVILEGE TO DANCE IN HER OWN CHOREOGRAPHY AS TWEETIE IS ALSO THE FIESTA-CHOREOGRAPHERS’ BALL INTERNATIONAL GUEST CHOREOGRAPHER!!!! 

This is such a rare opportunity!!! The ability to dance for a choreographer and dancer of this calibre is rare on its own, let alone something available to the dancers of Perth – right here at our door steps!!!

Tweeties “Workshop Intensives” will be on April 10 and April 11, and Fiesta will be on April 18 2010!!!!!!! Dancers stay tuned, tell your friends. This is without a doubt the biggest event of 2010 and of course the start of a new decade in dance for Perth. 

As a special suprise, TWEETIE will also be teaching a workshop open to the general public – yes a special workshop for all the non-dancers! So tell your friends, mums, dads, brothers, sisters, neighbours and colleagues.  Like her Dances from the hood show, TWEETIE will be teaching the Perth public how to “GROOVE YOUR MOVES” by teaching them the dances from her MTV show ‘Dances from the Hood’.   No doubt a great day out, and a great way to get EVERYONE enjoying dance!!! GROOVE YOUR MOVES will be on April 17th….stay tuned for when tickets go on sale.
